I have an old (circa 1938) Dobro lap steel and Dobro Amplifier. I'm certain that they are a package deal that was sold together. The steel is in the original case. I have been searching around to get an approximate value but so far not much luck. If any one could help it would be greatly appreciated....Tim

There's that exact amp at auction on Ebay right now.

You'll know exactly what it's worth in about 1 week.
Any prewar Dobro electric instrument is extremely rare.

Contact Gruhn Guitars for a professional appraisal of your instrument. It's pricey, but accepted by all major insurance carriers as a valid indication of your amp and lap steel combination.

I don't think I have enough experience with this combo to be able to hazard a guess.

hello Tim- i,m in south australia- i have same Dobro as you- on ebay they seem to be around $500 u.s.(have watched for 2-3 years) so when the amp on ebay finishs -the combined price may help!- guitars were only manufactured for a few years- regards from S.A.

I love the Roman numerals! I've been contemplating similar markings on a DIY I've been dreaming about...
