I just run across some old reel to reels in storage and I remembered my father playing them a lot
It was recordings of a band called "Desperado". My father playing lead guitar and Glen Porter on PSG.
I can't find the old reel to reel player and the tapes look like they are in pretty bad shape.
I thought this to be kind of an eerie coincidence since I had just got an email recently saying that Glen had just joined the Forum in Mar of this year.
I was really impressed by Glen's playing and he and my grandfather spurred my interest in PSG at the time my father wasn't playing PSG. I'm sure that Glen spurred my father's interest as well since it wasn't long after that that my father took up PSG.
I guess I went the long way round to say I am proud that a great PSG player has joined us and I would like to give him a hardy welcome to the SGF.

Funny, and it's a common enough name, but the first band I played with out here in 79 was one with the same name.

Lots of time has passed, amd one of the players, bt we still get together and listen to some of the old reel to reels and watch the VCRs we did in the early 80s.

Anyhow, got your mail and sent you a stinging reply..

Just kidding Stu.

Well right now some of those dusty old recording studios have state of the art old stuff and are really hungry for work. OUr drummer works for "Recording Assc" here and runs some stuff off every now and then, if you know anybody in that bus.

My friends have an old Sony, but I don't think it's even got "lines out". Haven't given it much thought.
