Is this the made in USA model, or an import model?

Not sure how to definitively tell. Does is say "Made in USA", "Made in Korea", or "Made in China" anywhere on the instrument?

How is the workmanship and detailing?

Is the pickup active or passive (does the guitar have a battery installed)?

Would you describe the sound as the more old-style midrange tone or a more modern full-range sound; does it have a lot of high end to the sound?

OMI ca. early '90s. (ergo Huntington Beach; there should be a Dobro lyre decal on the back of the headstock.)

I had one, same model. Bought mine in 04' Made at the Gibson Factory in Nashville. Serial # D4060380. The Hound Dog 60S model was retired by Gibson in the spring of 2006. The body is laminated, figured maple veneer. Passive pickup.
Hope it helps.

I have been told that if the serial number is stamped (which yours is)then it is made in the U.S.A.I have one that is about a year old and definatly an import,The serial number is not stamped.

Rich I tried returning your email but got a message permanent failure.
Here is the answer I tried to send.

Hello, Thanks for the interest in my Hound Dog. I understand it is made in the great USA. If it has the serial number stamped on the headstock it is USA and it does. Nice guitar.
Again Thanks,
Dale

The USA Dobros have the logo burnt in to the headstock, the chinese Dobros have the decal on the headstock.
