The handsome and debonair Audie McQueary is hosting the Southern Ky Steel Guitar Convention again this summer. He has asked me to post the info here. There will be individual arranged sets from some well known names as well as regional talent.

The date is set for Sun. July 10 starting around 12:00 noon.

The show will be held at a former KOA site [now called Heartland] on Hwy. 55 about 8.5 miles south of Campbellsville [on R. going toward Columbia] in the Green River Lake region of south central KY.

Some type of Campground marker should be visible from the road. Feel free to email me for direction info.

The event is open to public attendance for an admission fee of $8 which will be used to offset charges for the building,
organizing, etc.
I will post updates as they become available.

I just got a note from Sue telling me that they have confirmed these heavyweights for this show.
Herby Wallace, Bobbe Seymour and Chubby Howard.

Regional pickers include: Chet Brummett, Marion Walker, Bobby Hair, Beck Collins and Audie Mac, Jerry Overstreet and maybe Boogie Sherrard.

Reminder bump.....Last year they closed the airport when they heard Bobbe was coming! We may have to land him on the highway this time.

I hope you or somebody has checked to see whether the strip is open if you plan to fly in again this year, Bobbe!

Despite not meeting expenses in the past, these good folks continue in support of the Steel Guitar.

Attend if you can. You will hear some great pickin'. You'll also be able to buy steel guitar music, instructional material, accessories and maybe even a new guitar!

HWP products with Herby Wallace, Steel Guitar Nashville with Bobbe Seymour and local retailers Backwoods Music and Krystal Music will be represented and probably others.

Besides that, you'll enjoy the hospitality, atmosphere and fellowship. Hope to see you there!
