I watched Martina McBride on cable and she played some Ray Price shuffles and then some of her current stuff.

The thing that I found strange was she brought in a totally different band for the Ray Price stuff (and it was the same time and location) with Paul Franklin on steel. Everybody switched when she went to her popular hits.

Is the music really that different that she needed a different band for the Ray Price stuff, couldn't her band have done a good job of the Ray Price stuff with some chord charts and rehearsal?

Her band does play those songs when she does them on the road. That show you speak of just featured the studio musicians that played on the record just for entertainment value. It was part of the purpose of the show. Her road band is one of the best around, and Wayne Dahl (her steel player) is awesome and can hold his own with anyone.

I see her boppin' in Sunny D commercials these days. Could a Sunny D Tour be just around the corner?

You have to wonder why these stars with so much money already, would even want to do a commercial. Now if they can find an old one of Jerry Garcia advertising Purple Haze, or Orange Sunshine, that would be cool.
