BTW, I notice we both own 1964 Melody Makers.
Years ago, back before I got it, some kind soul installed a Firebird Mini Humbucker in the neck position, and a Paul Reed Smith humbucker in the bridge position, with just a three way switch and a volume pot. It's one of my favorite guitars, and I can play it all night without it breaking my back.

Don,
I'll get the bar out by tomorrow. I agree on the Gibson Melody Makers. They are awesome guitars. I bought my first one when I first got out of the Marines in 1973 and always wanted another one, since I sold that one years ago. So I found this one and am happy with it. Personally I like the single cut away. I think my first one was that. But couldn't find one at the time.
