BIGGER AND BETTER than ever folks!! Our show just keeps growing and growing. Had to go to two days this time. June 11 and 12 at the VFW Post 4526, 15206 Dedeaux Rd., Gulfport, Mississippi. We will start at 7 PM Friday and at 11:55 AM on Saturday the 12th. Have an exciting line up. Players schedule will be out in a few days.
A TV Documentary Company out of Florida will be in house conducting and gathering information about the evolution of the pedal steel guitar. Both days of our event will be recorded and later edited for use in this program. The TV set up will be similar to that of the recent Phoenix show with those very large professional studio quality TV cameras, tracks etc. Bring your vintage equipment for display and perhaps it will show up in the documentary. Interviews will be conducted all during the two days.
SHOW HAS NOT BEEN CANCELLED! (Received second hand word from a source and I want all to know the show is ON with much Southern Hospitality awaiting for all).
Various hotels and motels in the area very close to the VFW, just off the Gulfport I-10 exit). The Ramada has given us special rates. The number for their Sales Manager, DeeDee May, is 228 872 6370. Address for the Ramada Inn is: 9415 Highway 49 South from the I-10 exit. Less than a quarter mile on the right. The VFW is located north of this exit. Dedeaux Rd is the second redlight going North of the freeway. Turn right on Dedeaux and the blue metal bldg is almost immediately on your left. You will go under a Fire STation redlight and be in the left lane. Famous last words-"Can't miss it". Looking forward to seeing all of you then.
Catfish supper Friday evening, hamburgers & hotdogs Saturday afternoon, steak supper Sat. night. (Down south our evening meal is not dinner-that is our noon meal-lol).
Thanks.

Jack, it is folks, friends and talent like yours that makes our efforts worthwhile. Glad you will be here and stand by for a good "fiddle work out too". And, we will not forget your slot on your steel with Martha on stage with you keeping you straight.
Just had a call from Ronnie Miley. He is in Meridian visiting with Peavey and getting some amp work there.
I had the good fortune of sitting in on a practice session last week with Hank Corwin and Ronnie Miley. Hearing these two guys together is about the best lesson I could ever have. We were practicing a three part harmony tune. Hank amazed me in that he can instantally tell, and then show you where all the notes are-whether it is the melody or any harmony part-seconds, thirds, sixths, ninths or any other part. He will tell you what pedal, string group, fret and any other information faster than I could determine what single string and fret I should be playing. This guy is one great steel guitar talent and REAL musician. He and Ronnie will remind all of us how good they really are when they play their duet set on Saturday afternoon. Brings to mine the great sets that Russ Hicks and Jimmy Crawford played.
Then, we will have the new "Cajun Connection" trio steel guitarists that will just amaze us all again.
Drew Powell of Powell Projections will be in house for the Pedal Steel Documentary production. Drew is also a well known DJ in the Florida area. Hopefully, we can have him join our DJ Hall of Fame Member, Romeo Sullivan, in sharing the MC duties along with Rob Parker. Rob will enlighten us all with his steel playing this time also. More to come folks. Stay tuned.
