I guess Skip, Clyde and I have all been asleep at the wheel this month.
The regular jam of the Manasota Steel Guitar Club will be held on Tuesday, May 18 at the Eagles Aerie,
on 15th Street in Bradenton.
We start setting up about 6 P.M. and begin pickin'
at 6:30.
Pedal Steel, Lap Steel, Dobro all welcome.
Tom, Clyde, and Skip will be there for backup.

Details about the club on the website:

Thanks to Danny Hammers for creating it.

OK.. cut me some slack, spent most of the day re-guying my 85' tower, then playing a little "bluegrass" music tonight. But seriously, thanks to Blake and Skip for posting the Manasota Steel Guitar Club jam.

Tom and I are looking forward to a great group of pickers and listeners.

See ya then.

We had a light turnout last night but still got in a full evening's playing some really great music. Thanks to Jack Dougherty and John King for making the trip - they both played great and our own Tom Chaffin on Dobro hung right in there with them. We missed Blake last night as well as his (and our) favorite roadie. Thanks to Charlie Hulen for his videography and being a great audience. Backup band Tom Murphy on rhythm guitar and vocals and Clyde Wiggins on bass provided their usual rock solid accompaniment. I had a really enjoyable time playing some really great tunes that I hadn't heard in a while - it keeps the old brain and fingers limber! Looking forward to next month and, hopefully, a few more players - and an audience would be nice, too!
