Check with Resophonic Outfitters - https://www.beardguitars.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc They sell parts, maybe they have some kit-building references.

www.Stew-Mac.com used to sell kits/parts for building a couple kinds of resophonic guitars. I don't think they have the kits anymore but they might still have reference material relevant to building them. They are generally a great reference source for luthiery topics.

As John said, Beard guitars has complete kits and you can also get plans/blueprints for round neck or squareneck reso from them.

Stew-Mac no longer sells kits for reso, but they still have the instruction booklets that went with those kits (in PDF format) on their site, as well as reso setup instructions, etc. Look under the Free Information area.

Go to: www.mimf.com (Musical Instrument Makers Forum), sign up, and then you'll have access to the library. Search the library for resonator. You'll find some very useful information there. Then make a contribution to help keep the sight going.

Also, go here: www.reso-nation.org. Do a search for "Gary Dusina's Guitar Construction Article".

Finally, Google "dobro construction", "resonator construction", and other like phrases. You can find a lot of useful information with photos just by doing that.

There are a lot of builders who are on Reso-Nation and Resohangout. They are generally willing to share information with beginners.

For the aspiring luthier wishing to build from
scratch,I see two basic routes...the original Dobro-
blueprint w/ detacheable neck & a sturdy over all
construction, often sporting 3-ply maple for the body
etc...lots of work...even more work is required to
build a set-neck,solid-top reso...it really takes a
rather competent luthier to pull that off...McUtsi
