Gary is one of the finest steel players on the west coast. He specializes (as do I) in the "west coast sound". That bouncy right hand style with clear bell like tones. Do you notice Gary knows when NOT to play to let the song breathe? The sign of a tasteful steel player. Gary will soon be playing a brand new Retro Steel Guitar ZB Custom S-10 built by myself and Jerry Fessenden. He truly knows how to get the west coast sound. Pictures to come. Way to go Gary. |

Russ, that's because Gary used to own Ed's old ZB, and his licks were still on it... |

So that's why! Gary sucked all the licks out of that ZB. |

Thanks Russ! And thanks to you all for the kind words.
That video is from one of my rare Bakersfield gigs a few years ago. Jessie Jay Harris (son of Greg Harris) on tele, Terry Hanson on vocals, Dave Kilner on bass, and Dave Drewry on drums.
If there had been a steel guitar forum twenty five years ago, I would still have Ed's old ZB. Who knew?
I'm lookin' forward to gettin' the new ZB that Kevin makes.
