Hi,
I am in the process of planning a holiday to Nashville. I then had a great idea of trying to get some intensive tuition on the pedal steel while I was there. A combined holiday of site seeing and tuition. Can anyone suggest some one who maybe able to give an hours tuition say for five days or so. I could play pedal steel during the day. Then go out in the evening to enjoy Nashville...
Regards
Kenf

certainly try to hook up with Doug Jernigan or Mike Sweeney, both available here on the forum. I'm sure there are others but Mike and Doug come to mind.

Buck Reid is another possibility, if he's in town.
You can get a hold of him thru his website, or here on the forum.

I learned a LOT from Terry Wendt.....he's in Nashville near the Opry and teaches out of his home studio. He will show you some amazing techniques, and some basics that aren't so "basic"....

I've taken a lesson with Doug Jernigan in Nashville and learned quite a bit. He's great on both E9 and C6, and has a good setup for teaching.

I study from Doug Jernigan, and would certainly recommend him to any and all. I don't have to tell of his ability to play, everyone knows that, but you find a very friendly, knowledgable person that is as down to earth as they come. Check out doug, you will have a special treat. Happy Pickin, Ray

Thanks again for all your replies. I'm lining a few things up and can't wait to come over. Is there anything else that is a must in Nashville? Especially for a Pedal Steel player???

Thanks again.... I'm so looking forward to coming over.

Does anyone know anywhere in Nashville where I could hire a Pedal Steel Guitar for a few days? I think it will be a real problem for me to bring my Pedal Steel with me...

Regards

Ken
