This is the Pre RP I bought from Mickey Adams last November. Smoothest pedal and knee lever response I have ever seen.

My second steel guitar, a 2003(?) S10 3X5 narrow body (not quite an SD) with an E66 (It's black! And Its A Mullen! What can I say!?).

My stage setup is similar (minus sax and keys), but Ive been using a NV1000 instead of the Fender. I got a TubeWorks 962 fixed, which I'd like to put in a rack with a Revelation eventually, and use that solely for steel, and a separate rig for guitar and mandolin, etc.

As a proud and happy Mullen player, I just have to jump in and show mine as well ...

This guitar has a bit of a special heritage behind it. This was Gary Hogue's first Mullen guitar, built in 1986 and delivered to him via Charlie Norris' Family Music in August of the same year. The photo above shows the guitar as it appears today and, below, is a photo of Gary with the guitar right after he got it when it was brand new.

For those of you familiar with Gary's albums, "A Brand New Me" and "Night Train", this was the guitar that Gary played on those albums as well as a myriad of other recordings. Gary owned several Mullen guitars, but this one was always his favorite and he played it as a "mainstay" guitar from 1986 until 1995 when he sold it to me.

For me, purchasing this guitar made me feel like King Arthur pulling Excalibur from the stone. This guitar still plays as easy and wonderful as it did when it was brand new, holds intonation better than any guitar I've ever owned and sounds fantastic.

Of course, Gary was the real master of this guitar and I only wish I could make it sound even a tenth as good as he did! Here's a little clip of this guitar in Gary's hands (both E9th and C6th) ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWUmy96jfQM

I've owned four Mullen guitars and loved them every one, but this is the only one I have left and, therefore, is the only one pictured for the moment.

Thanks Bill. One is the Franklin pedal lowering 5, 6, & 10 a whole step. The other lowers 5 & 10 a half step. I used to have this change on my vertical, and I raised 1 & 2 and lowered 6 with the RKL. I didn't like the half stop feel when the 2nd string engaged. It made it hard for me to make a smooth slide down with string 6. So I put the 1 & 2 raise on my vertical and put the 5 & 10 half step lower on the "0" pedal. The disadvantage is that I can't lower 5 a half step for a minor chord with A & B engaged. Guess I'll have to go back to the old half pedal trick Smile !
