Just go to Billy Cooper's website and listen to him play 'The Healing Hands of Time'......no frills...no extras.....if you love country music, it will resonate with your soul...it certainly does with mine. I have listened to it over and over again...and I can't possibly listen to it without tears in my eyes. As Albert Svenddal said to me at the TSGA Jamboree, 'There it something about the steel guitar that tugs at the heart strings.' Billy's rendition of this Willie Nelson song is as good of an example as it gets... unpretentious and yet so very beautiful. Thank you Billy.....furthermore Billy offers the tab of his arrangement......I have ordered it and I can't wait.

I've gotta blow this horn just once - at least.
Willie Nelson wrote and copywrited "Healing Hands of Time" in 1963.
Mickey Newberry "wrote" and copywrited "Sweet Memories" in 1968.
Compare the two. Am I the only one who recognizes more than just a simple "similarity" between them? More like a slightly smudged carbon copy on the part of Mickey. Is it that Mickey's attention span is less than five years or that he didn't pay any attention to that which was already in the musical library?
Draw your own conclusions. I have - as evidenced by this post. |

Regardless Ray Price did a fantastic job on both songs. |
