For those of you who are unaware of what can be fully achieved on a non pedal steel, have a look at this all the way through. It will blow your mind. The chords are phenomenal.

Pure magic, Ken! As only Reece could have played it.
That man has had the magic touch for over 40 decades.

He made that lap steel sound like an orchestral string section..such richness of tone!

Absolutely Bent. I think it shows just what the steel guitar is capable of as a back up instrument. There are many keyboard players who would like to get half the chords that Reece gets here. Its staggering.

Our late fellow-forumite, Rick Alexander, posted many wonderful videos before his sad demise.

IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT YOU COULD STRING THREE WIRES OVER A TIN CAN AND GIVE REECE 15 MINUTES ON IT AND HE WOULD BE PLAYING "WALKING" CHORDS. I HAVE HEARD HIM SINCE I WAS 10 YRS OLD AND I HAVE TO AGREE.

I first heard Reece live in May of '68 in Napa CA, thanks to Tom Bradshaw. and his pedal steel playing is so above the pack. He has also been one of the nicest people behind the steel I have had the pleasure of meeting. I would still love to enjoy his pedal work, but this has proved he still can put chords together while the rest of us are wishing and looking for it.
