For the first time, I had the pleasure of meeting Gene at the Southern IL Show, and spent over an hour visiting with him,Lynn Owsley and Gary Rittenberry about the evelution of the Pedal Steel.
What a joy it was to learn about this history and how much Gene had to do with the begining as well Lynn Owsley. Then I started wondering why these two guys weren't in the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame.
The name Duane Marrs came into the conversation several time's, another should be Hall of Famer, IMHO
With all this said, what is the criteria for the HOF.
Is it a board that makes the choices? Do people get to vote, just curious. From where I stand these guys should be in the HOF,,,Again this is my Opinion.
