I have removed my D string (9) and have a B at (9) and a G# at (10) both hooked up to the A&B pedals. This suits me well but I would like to have the D available on the E string via a knee lever. The easiest way for me to do this would be to add it to the lever that raises the F# to G. (Its a Shobud 6319 with 3+4) Is this a good idea? Or is there a better way?

I suggest that you add a vertical and put the F# to G change there, and put the E to D lower on the knee lever you're using now to raise the F# strings.

Lowering the E string to D along with using the B pedal gives you a D major chord on stings 7.6.and 6. Add the 5th string and you've go a D6, or if you use the A and B pedal s together, a D major 7.

I often use the D string with the 7th string F#. If I didn't have a D string, I'd probably want it on the knee lever that lowers the 2nd string D# to D.

I like b0b's solution. It worked for me on a U-12 (but I really prefer having a D string.)
I also raised 4 E to E# on the same lever. It went back to E when I lowered the 2 E strings with a lever.
I rigged the lever so that 2 D# went to D without changing 4 or 8, then on down to C#. The added resistance of 4 and 8 provided the half-stop at D on string 2.

I don't have a D string on my U-12, so I lower the 8th on the same knee lever that raises my 2nd string (which I tune to C#) to D. I raise it to D# on a different knee lever.

On my Uni, I raise the B string to D. That's pretty common.

Thanks Guys.

Bob's solution was my alternative, I like the idea of a vertical but finding and fitting the parts might be a problem for me here in Scotland.

I like the major seven too!
