I got this recently, guy I got it from had it in his family for over 30 years, and I was going to do something with it but have decided to sell the way it is. Right now I need space more than guitars. Based on the pot code on one of the pots, it's a 1950 and you can see that the finish has been completely sanded off (not by me!). The person that did it completely removed all parts, and left out some of the nails when putting the fingerboards back on. Plus there are chicken head knobs where the tele-style ones would normally be. There is a crack in the body, not very deep but it's there along the back edge near one bridge, and some screw holes where something had previously been attached. Case is pretty rough, some tears fraying and missing some tweed, hardware is rusty and the handle is broken. It is still structurally ok, but you can't carry by the handle until you get a new one in there (and this is the riveted bracket type, a little more work) The good news is that the pickups work, the pots, switch, switch tip are original, it still has all three legs and sockets, and the original lollipop tuners appear to still be working. Anyway, I could be crazy but I think this is still a good deal at $795 plus shipping just since there are not a lot of these around, and painting it wouldn't be that big a deal, filling the screw holes and the crack, and doing a walnut stain as was also stock that year is another option. Anyway, see what you think. You can also email me at jkally3@cox.net. If I don't answer right away, it just means I'm away from the computer and I'll get back to you. I can probably provide more pics if needed. I will ship anywhere. Paypal or money order, not a problem.
