Stumbled onto this Jim Jarmusch movie on the IFC channel last night. Tom Waits and Iggy Pop were doing a scene in a tavern, and playing softly in the background was this really pretty steel. Guess who? Jerry Byrd!

Hi Frank,

I had the same surprise a couple of years ago. What fun! An interesting musical juxtaposition. I really enjoyed those short films. You can rent the disc from Netflix.

Best,

Bob

The Iggy pop/waits scene is one of my favorites from that movie, although the movie as a whole isn't my favorite Jim Jarmusch film. Down By Law has that honor.

OK Jim!
I can't even begin to guess how many times I've watched that movie and laughed every time.

Here is the Iggy Pop & Tom Wait scene on YouTube.
