We were at the friday nite set at 7 m. There was a lot of good pickin. The house band did a GREAT job! Al Svenddal(with David and David) came on at 8:30 P.M. and really did a good job. (woke us up) Russ Hicks was around 10:P.m., and was sure injoyed. Then Mike Sigler was next, doing a great job!! Then last but not least, Doug Jerrinigan hitting it like two mules bogged down in a truck patch. It was a good night.
There was some mighty fine steelers there which are unknown maby, at this time. They did great. I suer hope you don't miss the next one! Doug Rolfe and his staff did a great job making it happen! A lot of hard work.....Kenny Pryor

Fred, there was good steel pickin, and ther were good songs about our Great God being played by good men. Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there the bible says. i don't feel there were critical spirits, trying to outdo one another.

It might not be for everyone, but I take my hat off to those who were involved, and let it be known how they beleived. GOD Blessum!

This may have been one of the most outstanding shows that I have seen in 25 years of steel shows. Friday night was very good but the saturday show was the most outstanding event that I have ever seen. They started out with Cliff Waterman, John Hughey, Ron Elliott,Al Svenddal,Jack heern,Russ Hicks, Mike sigler andDOUG jERNIGAN. These men are all christians and played for the lord on friday night. On saturday the lord thanked them all and the played without error and created a spirit in all of us that were watching that we will never forget. Every player on saturday eas way beyond good, they were all outstanding.
Also doug invited a black steel player from Columbus, Ohio named Jim Patterson and I think we may have bought every album the he brought with him. The whole show saturday
was the most outstanding example great steel playing that anyone could ever hear. I am sure that all of the players feel the same way that I do. Thank you all and please keep up the great spirit Larry

Thank you all, for your hard work and dedication..The show was great, filled with much emotion, and super music, and everyone that I spoke with, enjoyed it immensely..
Thank you for allowing me to be part of this undertaking..I had a large time, and am looking forward to the next one, which,( I don't know how )will be better than this years show..It's like the worlds fair, or your favorite pair of knock around shoes...they get bigger and, better every year...

Doug and Stevie,
I really believe this is the best show we have attended in Indy. There were so many great players and vocalist that I won't try to name them, however, I want to commend everyone who played or aang along with the great backup band for their untiring efforts to provide this oportunity to be involved in the outstanding atmosphere and the best fellowship anywhere. Doug, I thought your "choir" did a great job and gave us a time of reflection and inspiration that put the cap on the entire show. What a weekend it was!!! God Bless all who were there.

WHAT A SHOW!!!
A whole weekend of being able to listen to steelers giving praises to the Lord on an instrument of 10 strings!!
Except for Albert Svendahl of course. Nothing like a Norwegian bringing a 12 string guitar. But then again, we are told in the bible to be a "peculiar" people and that gives us Norwegians an excuse.

Hey Kenny, Thanks for the report over the forum and much better our conversation on the phone Saturday night. Hope you can come to the Peoria show June the 26th. Doug Jernigan will be there as well as Darrell Cummings. You remember him don't you? I wish I could have gone to the Indy show but I had a gig Friday night, the first in many years and it took this old man till Saturday evening to rest up from it. I don't know how those older than me do it. They know who they are, Ron. oops.

We had a super good time at our first Gospel Steel Show, Thanks Doug!!
All who played were great.
When John Hughey starts playing those slow crying hymns on the E-9th neck it gets very emotional.
Just don't know how anyone could possibly do it any better!

Doug and Stevie...you've done it again...WOW... What a great time we had last weekend in Indy. The show was terrific and the players were really "on their game". What a previlege it was to work with each of these great players as they praised Our Lord with the talent The Lord gave to each of them.
It was great to work with the talented musicians that were asembled in the staff band. Each one of them "a hero of mine", great group of guy's all dedicated to the work of The Lord.
Each year as Barbara and I return home from Indy we reflect on how blessed we were to have been a small part of this great gathering.
Thanks Doug and Stevie for having us be a part of your group.

Thanks to each of you who came and were a blessing to us. It is hard work but we get paid well when we are able to fellowship with those who have the common bonds of our faith and the steel guitar together. We always look forward to seeing a great number of you who enjoy what we try to do. Lord willing, we'll try to do it again next year. Thanks again for all the support we get from the steel guitar community.

Whew! What can I say? When Russ Hicks stopped by to pick me up he said "get ready to laugh for the next 5hr...we got Ron Elliott here!" what a gentleman Ron is..and a beautiful lady that puts up with him, Leslie..I love both of you! I met Ron 25yrs ago, think i was about 9? He took me backstage to show me his new guitar, have never forgotten his kindness, what an honor to be with him and Leslie. Thanks Doug and Stevie for giving me the opportunity to "hang out" with the people I love and I know love me...God is so very good to us! And thanks to my buddy, my hero, Russ Hicks for just being a friend. I can not possibly list all the very special people from the weekend, and the memories.... thanks again for the part everyone does for this show to go. pat

Dear Pat, You are so fortuniate to have known Ron, Leslie, and Russ for 25 years. I met them about 25 days ago and I know what you mean about their friendship. I will also include Laney in that group. She has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard.
