Beard Mike Auldridge Special 6-string, #240, built 11/07. Sunset Red sunburst finish with curly maple binding. Just received a complete Frank Harlow setup including new bridges and Quarterman cone - looks and plays perfect. - big balanced "Mike Auldridge" sound, awesome sustain and presence. Absolutely stock, no modifications or issues. Excellent condition, no dings or nicks, a few very light scratches. This has been babied as my "at home" guitar since purchase. Includes a twill Cedar Creek case that predates the instrument, but is in great shape. Price reduced to $2600+shipping!

Originally, Mike Auldridge insisted that the MAS be shipped with Quarterman cones, even though all other Beards were using Beard cones at the time. Unbeknownst to me,at some point they made the decision to use the Beard cone with the MAS.

My first MAS had a Quarterman, and sounded better to my ear than this one, so I had Frank go through it. Replacing the cone with a Quarterman and adding new bridge inserts, along with a healthy dose of Frank's mojo, transformed it - added a lot of volume, brought up the bass and mids substantially, and maintained the trademark sweetness and presence of the top end. Other players have remarked on the difference the setup has made; this instrument is equal or superior to any MAS I've played.

Well I'm not brain dead as far as I know, but like a lot of folks the recession has taken its toll on our household, so I'm not in the market.

But if you want a great resonator guitar and financially things are going okay at your homestead, this would be a wonderful addition to the arsenal. Brand new I beleive would be $3700.

I was listening yesterday to the John Starling & Carolina Star CD that came out in 2007 called Slidin' Home with Mike Auldridge on dobro, and his Beard MAS sounds magnificent. These are wonderful instruments, with sustain like having a small grand piano on your lap.
