This double 10 is truly one of a kind special built at very considerable expense in 1976 by MSA as a show guitar and shown all over the world.
This guitar actually allows one to see all mechanics operating as well as the players feet and knees while playing...
The guitar was born to be a true show guitar and one which would enhance any collectors or steel guitar enthusiasts exclusive and unique collection..To my knowledge it's the only operational steel guitar of its kind ever to be produced, and will quite likely be the last. It comes with a molded case...Shipping will be added...

I know it's subjective, but I'm really curious what this one sounds like, say, in comparison to a similar traditionally built model from the same time period.
Lots to learn here relative to the ongoing tone debates, relating to construction. |

| Mark.....If one couldn't see it being played with other models of that era, I'm convinced the sound pf the plexi-glass guitar or any other guitar could not be consistently identified. |

Hi Reece. I assume this is 8 pedals, yes? And looks like 2 KLs, right? Do the pedal rack, legs, rods, etc all fit into the case too? Hard to see where they'd go...

have you considered placing this in a museum? I'm sure the folks over at the Country Music Hall of Fame would pay you a respectable price. It would be a wonderful piece to educate the people on the mechanical complexities of our instruments. If you'd like, I'm in Nashville right now and could go up there and put you in touch with the person who makes those descisions.

Jimbeaux….The guitar is being offered with 8 pedals, and 2 knee levers on the right leg. The pedal bar, legs and rods lay in a molded tray which sits on the inside ledge of the case. Same as the guitar we were producing back then, it is pre-machined to accept additional pedals and knee levers.
You were missed at the Dallas show this year, sure hope you can make it here next year.
Dave Z…..Plexi-glass doesn’t have the strength of wood and a metal frame which we used on our older guitar’s. Our intention was to build a one of a kind guitar that would allow everyone to see the mechanical parts and their movement while playing, it was not designed to withstand the rigors of playing professionally year after year.

Brett R……I appreciate your suggestion. My ONLY reason for offering the guitar, is because it’s seldom seen and appreciated here in my home, and I believe this beautiful instrument deserves being seen because it is truly a one of a kind made with exacting tolerances. |

I don't think the CMA HOF does much purchasing, if any at all.
The Members of this forum purchased Shot Jacksons ShoBro and Presented it to the HOF several years back. I'm not sure how long it stayed on Display, If in Fact it ever did for any length of time.
There would be no Guarantee that they would put it on Display if Reece gave it to them and that is not any of our decisions to make. |

| The Hall of Fame has about 50 times more instruments than they'll ever be able to display. I had a brief conversation with the instrument curator a few years ago while I was there visiting Bobbe Seymour, and he said they rarely turn anything down but they rarely actively pursue them either. |

Steven B....The weight of the guitar is a little over 40 pounds out of the case. As you can see, it has a molded case with removable accessory tray.
This guitar is an exact replica of the MSA Classic, with the exception of the metal frame we commonly used, so to answer your question, additional pedals and knee levers can be added. Had we included the metal frame it would have defeated the intended purpose of having the ability to observe the inner workings as it's being played.
To my knowledge it's the only precision playable transparent pedal steel guitar that's ever existed, and quite possible the only one that will ever exist.
