I got to be on stage with Bill on the San Antonio River. He told a funny joke about the Texas Highway Patrol. I will pray for Bill and his family. _________________ Gordon Borland

Bill was on the Brush Country Jamboree several times while I was there. (Live Oak County, Texas). A very nice man. Bill was responsable for Hank Jr's "There's a Tear in My Beer", being a wax record that Hank had made for Bill to cut, and Bill passed on to Hank Jr. many years later. So many are passing on, these days, it seems. Les |

Les, I had the pleasure to sit with Bill at his home as he told me the story about A Tear in My beer. One of life best treasures. He was a jewel.

I had the good fortune to meet Big Bill in Llano, Texas backstage at the Llano Opry. He and I hit it off from our first words spoken. What a gentleman he was. I wish I could have spent more time with him. |
