24 songs in total (including the 4 Tops Medley as 2)
12 songs complete with everything
12 backing tracks minus the pedal steel playing the melodies, leaving the steeler or any solo instrumentalist plenty of room to express themselves without having my interpretation get in their way

That’s a lot of music for only $15! -- No shipping & handling fees --

I’m confident you’ll find the backing tracks in tune and inspiring & easy to play with, providing you enjoy pop & rock tunes of the 60’s.

!!! Notice to steelers --- the music on this CD is not country flavored or influenced. !!!

Attention pedal steel instructors --
These backing tracks are really pretty good and might prove to be an effective teaching tool if you have students learning to play songs melodies and like pop & rock tunes of the 60s. All of the songs on the cd have backing tracks included for free.

I play plenty of country gigs too, and practicing to these songs helps me be to be a better pedal steel guitarist, resulting in also playing country music better.
And for those players who aren't sure what to play during minor chords and progressions, this CD will certainly help you in that area. Many of these songs require developed skills playing to music with Minor chords.

Progress is being made on the website.
Besides the CD, they'll be plenty of pdf files available to download of scales charts and other free instructional material that can be viewed or printed out.
As soon as it's complete I'll make a new formal announcement.

Marc

I really liked your CD. Its great to
hear those old songs with a fresh take.
What distortion pedal did you use?
Sounds like a Bosstone?

Thanks Rick,

I’m glad you’re enjoying Steel My Guitar Gently Weeps.
I certainly had a lot of fun putting this CD together, though I feel I actually express myself better when playing with a live band. In live situations I usually use one of a variety of distortion stomp boxes. For the power steel on the album I went through a Korg ToneWorks AX1500G processor. I used the preset sound called Lovegun, simply because I like it. To my heart and ears it has a real good combo of distortion, reverb, sustain, etc, without being too muddy.

Thanks again.
I grew up playing these songs so they’re second nature to me - let me know if you need any of the chord charts for them.

The chord charts for all the songs on the CD are now posted on the website.
They're available for everyone who wants them in the "Free Downloads" section.
