After years of searching for the right combination, I think I've finally found a rig that works for me. I'm running my Asher Model One electro hawaiian into a Podxt and then into a Tech 21 Power Engine 60. I get all the effects and amp sims I want through the pod and the Tech 21 is especially designed to work with amp modler units like the Pod: it doesn't color the sound at all. What comes out is pretty much what you hear on the headphones of the pod. |

Made some slight upgrades and swapped out the Podxt with a new Pod x3 Live.
The ability to dial in to just about any sound you want is like a playground. I'll try and post some samples in a few weeks once I feel a little more confident. |

I did indeed Edward. For the last 3 years I played nothing but trumpet, cornet, and flugelhorm. Studied with some of the best jazz and trumpet men in New York and had a ball. Didn't even pick up a stringed instrument in all that time.
But last summer my living arrangement changed. I went from living in a house in the country to an apartment in the city and I found I just couldn't wail on the trumpet like I was doing.
So I started playing slide again and have fallen back in love. |
