It can be repaired, , 4 screws ,a couple of small brackets (stock) from Home Depot and it will be good as new. Add a front or rear support piece and it will be good as new. You will most likely have to tap the holes for the screws as the space is tight. It can be done. Be sure to lube the friction points whether you fix this one or get a new one. .


If you are not comfortable with the repair send it to me, but don't be afraid to fix it, the hard part is over, you removed it from the Steel !

I have this type lever on my U-12 Carter RKR and it makes for a stiff pull, altho I have not broken it.
I am thinking of having Jim Flynn of Lone Star Steels re-do this with a more conventional type system.
I believe that John Fabien put this on because I wanted my RKR back closer to me.

You might consider a roller bearing on one of the parts at the contact area, I've seen that on lever mechanisms.
