I think I finally found that sound. Had all types of steels and amps, but my Marlen S10(pull-release),and 76 Fender Twin Reverb are a perfect match!! Very basic set-up Marlen>Goodrich 120> Twin, that's it ,and sounds great. Whoever said these old Marlens are a cross between a Emmons, and a Sho-Bud are correct.Throw in a great tube amp like the Twin reverb, and I'm in heaven.-- Jim

Demps - After almost 40 years on steel I have a Marlen. I've always had a Twin Reverb. Here's my current stage setup - The Marlen is an 82 U-12 with E lever lock. The Fender is a recent '65 re-issue. Also a heavenly combination.
