I have a Shobud Maverick ,one of the ones with the contact paper and "ashtray" that holds the regular tuners in place. I t stays in tune and has a good sound,so in spite of all the bad press it recieves,I really like this guitar.
However, I need advice and information on how to get it in good running order. The C pedal which should raise theB and E strings to C# and F# only works on the 4th string ( E to F# ). I found a 5" metal rod with a hook on each end in the csae and this piece is probably the answer to the problem.
Massachusetts is not steel guitar centric ,so the chances of finding a music store that could help are slim. For that reason I got to learn about this stuff to stay in the game.
I am afraid that I could easily mess up this instrument by clumsy ,mishandled hack work and for that reason would like to get any advice before I start to " fix' my instrument
Thanks
Joe Buckley
