Hey KAY, Have you sent a copy of this to Vic Rittenband ? If not, I think you should as I am sure he will enjoy it very much.
Vic, for those who do not know, was Nancy's husband and together they wrote many, many songs which I eventually compiled into a folio for them some 15 years ago. The SOUND OF THE ISLANDS was one of the best compositions of the husband/wife team. As mentioned, it was but one of many excellent songs. Your rendition is one of the best I have ever heard.
When the 'revised' HAWAII CALLS show ran into a problem using the H.C. name, Bill Bigelow changed the name of the show to SOUNDS OF ALOHA. Nancy thought a better name would be her song title, endeavoured to convince Bill to go that direction and use her song as the opening theme, however Bill went with his idea instead. |

Many thanks for the appreciation. I got copyright permission for this tune and others from Vic and Nancy at the time of this recording and did send them a copy of "Sunsets and Sunrises". I have since lost contact with Vic and would be grateful if you could guide me. Regrettably Nancy, as we know, has now passed on. They were a great song-writing team.

Vic is doing fairly well these days although the loss of Nancy hit him very hard for some 18 months. I do not like to post e-mail addresses on the Forum, however I am certain Vic won't mind. You can contact him at
