Here are some of the guitars that Howard Parker was exhibiting at the TSGA Jamboree:
Left to right, a red mahogany model, a standard mahogany model, the Jerry Douglas model, and the Mike Auldridge model.
The Gold Tone guitars exhibited including this acoustic slide guitar:
And an eight string resophonic guitar that was very nice.

Gold Tone is making an 8-string dobro? Do tell. Love my Maple Deluxe! |

Yep...
Mahogany laminate body. Mahogany neck. Rosewood fretboard.
We're accepting small deposits on orders. Drop me a line for particulars if interested.
Sonny Jenkins and Mark Roeder took delivery last week at TSGA. I'm sure they'll have feedback.

I can tell you that it's a really nice sounding guitar as well. I've played other eight string resonators that just weren't that even sounding across the range of strings, with some strings being more muffled than others. This sounds exactly like a Gold Tone Beard should sound, but with two extra strings.
I didn't get to play it very much (Howard kept selling them!), and I couldn't play the G6th tuning they used very well, but I really liked it. Those of you who insist on eight strings for their steel guitars will love having one of these.
I understand that they should be available in quantities sometime in the summer. The two that were at the TSGA Jamboree were the only two in the USA at the time. Sonny and Mark should be happy boys! _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

I was lucky enough to play the acoustic square neck in Dallas, I sat there doing my Cliff Carlisle impersonation ( ha ha ) and it felt solid and workmanlike, a very interesting 'hybrid' that lent itself equally to dobro and weissenborn style moves, and it sounded good, perfect for Open D variations as illustrated at the show, thanks for the opportunity Howard |

Guys, thanks for the reviews. I'm interested in both of these instruments...I'm within driving distance of Paul Beard's shop and will be checking them both out as they become available. Howard Parker tells me that the 8-string reso won't be shipping until June.
