Well, when I went to Dallas last weekend I did not expect to fall in love. But when I sat behind this one, I knew it was coming home with me. David said he tried to build this one to look as beautiful as my wife, but it was just too hard. Charm will get you everywhere, as they say. Smile This is my dream guitar in every way. Basic 3+4 configuration, just the way I like it. I just set it up in my music room and it is incredible. I can't stop playing it, and I hardy ever play at home these days. Jackson steels have a unique richness and quality that is reminiscent of the early '60s heyday of steel guitar tone. As I said to Rusty Rhoads when I was buying the guitar, you don't have to fight for great tone or fool with a bunch of knobs when you're playing a Jackson steel. It just gives it up. Check out the models here:

http://www.jacksonsteelguitar.com/

I want to say a big thanks to Harry and David for making this deal a smooth and painless one, and for giving this small-town Canadian the star treatment! David put my custom setup on it the morning I bought it, and gave me a wheeled case to make the travel easier. They always treat me (and everyone) like gold, and are excellent guys in every respect. I've enjoyed my ongoing association with them since we met at the '07 Dallas show.

Here is a pic I took at the convention. I will try to get some undercarriage pics up soon, and will be making some youtube clips in the coming weeks. This is truly the Ferrari of steel guitars, in my opinion. I am over the moon.

That's a great looking guitar, Chris!

Did it come with a special changer? The top of the changer looks like the one on the Madison '63 model.

Well,I thought mine looked nice,ButWOW.
You have a beautiful guitar.
My Jackson even makes the Nashville 1000,sound good.
My other guitars could not. It's great thru a FSKing also.
There is something about the sound that is different to the ears.
I really think it is in the end plates.
Check um out. Nice and thick, like the emmons.
Anyway ,take good care of her.Doesn't your name look good on the guitar???
Bill

Nice guitar Chris.....guess the Easter Bunny came early, eh. It's hard to quit "noodlin" when you keep getting such a great "happy feeling" every time you sit down behind a guitar like that & experience "that" tone & playability.
Cheers, John J.

This is a beautiful guitar - I had the pleasure of playing it briefly at the show. I hope I get to see it in action when I come to St. John's in June.

Ugh.. that's so ugly! I think you should hide it in my basement so that it will never see the light of day again! I'll leave the back door open...

Be quick about it! We haven't much time!

(I heart Jacksons...)

I just now noticed the volume pedal. It looked like an old Bud pedal, but then I saw the Jackson logo.
Are they making those as well?

Thanks all for the kind words! You are all so supportive. Yes, my wife is a looker. I'm blessed. I think David is trying to steal her away from me. I will have to be on my toes in St. Louis. Smile

I will try to answer a few questions I see above:

Skip, yes that is a Jackson VP, modeled after the Sho~Bud VP but with a slightly smaller foot print. Very comfortable to play. And yes, from "someone else's vomit" (never thought Spinal Tap could come so close to reality in THAT way) to finding a dream steel. The juxtaposition was not lost on me. Ha!

Jan, yes the changer is modeled after the Madison '63 style. Not sure of all its workings. David just told me to leave it alone and not to mess with it. Ha! Actually, the strings go through the bottom of the changer (facing the player) and up around the bridge. It's a cool design. I will post more detailed pics shortly.

Bill, I don't have my name on the guitar. It wasn't actually custom-built for me. I adopted it! Ha!

Wink

Chris, on your guitar, the tailpiece looks more like the Madison 63 than it looks like the one on the pro IV on the website pictures. Does yours have a perm type setup?
