Fender Vibrasonic, Mesa Maveric, tricked out Fender HRD, POD with anything,
two pre amps and a split powered speaker, Sterio steel with a Sarno pre in the aux, a nashville 400 and a POD XT floor effects preamp. Fender vibroverb,
the list goes on.. What kind of shows do you play .. that will determine the best
size amp for you .. |

Roland JC-120. Indestructible, relatively light and sounds OK with steel – and superb with a Telecaster. |

I have a 70s super reverb chassis mounted in a 1x15 cabinet. The chassis has been upgraded with a pro reverb transformer as to have a 4ohm output...
Been gone over and biased slightly cool, recapped, and retubed with some NOS RCAs. |

My vote is a Vegas 400 best amp I ever owned, wished I had not sold them, Jack Dougherty is playing his PP thru one of them instead of his rack sys.

Are you happy with a SS amp for the Telecaster ? What sounds are you expecting for the Telecaster ?
This question is really loaded... Pretty much any quality amp mentioned will do the job but that may not be the answer.
My take, the Telecaster is of equal importance with double duty. The Steel requires WATTS and Headroom so that has to be added to the Telecaster equation.
It equals up to a something like a Fender Twin Reverb as the players primary choice for double duty. No looking back.
Other amps can and will do the job but a Tele picker will lean towards a tube amp. I use a Hot Rod Deville 2x12 for double duty ( sold my Twin, mistake ) The HR Deville is right at the cusp for clean Steel on a moderate gig. The Tele kicks butt with the HR Deville. Others have found their way on a SS amp for the Telecaster, I have not, my N400 is ok but it is not an amp that is suited for double duty to my liking. Great Steel amp though... _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

Jamey,
I have a '96 Vibrasonic, looks new with, Fender cover, footswitch, castors, and manual. Recent JJ's with maybe 20 hours of playing time. $650.00
If you are near Houston, grab a 6 string and come play through it.

there's a ton of amps to go with.
i play steel and tele... i use a n.ville 400 for steel. and fender blues deville for tele...
but if i had to choose just one amp for both, it would be the n.ville 400. super clean sound. and w/guitar effects it will make your tele stand out.
there's a nice 4 sale here on the forum. and it's been upgraded by ken fox. and has got my attention a little too.... good luck with whatever you decide!! _________________ left handed Excel Dl0, left handed GFI UNI 12 Ultra, 2 n.ville 400's, DD3,Lexcicon MPX100... |

The deal here is a NV 400 is loud no matter if its turned down or not ..
so .. if you play quite Gigs and the bartender wants to hear his customers
then a big amp can cause you a bunch of problems .. I have been using a borrowed Deluxe Reverb for Steel and Tele .. blackfaced with a JBL 120f
and I have to tell you its working just great for small shows.. I have a NV 400 and a 100 Watt Vibrosonic .. I can't take those amps out unless the crowed is larger than 60 People .. |

If you've never tried a Fender performer 1000, it's great for Tele(especially with a compression pedal)and very good for steel guitar. 100 watts with a 12" G-125 JBL and only weighs around 45 lbs.
$225 plus shipping if interested

The Fender 8 lb Jazzmaster head is the same guts as the Fender Steel KIng uses a special made Jensen Spke at 2 OHMS. Cab abd spkr 17 lbs. Sound great on steel and tele. Has DSP and also a switch for Tube sound. This is probably the best kept secret for those wanting a light rig and a good sound.
Leon Champion is the only one I know who has played mine.
You can check it out at musicians friend.

Jamey, I have an amp that I used for a month while my Nashville 400 was coming. Brand new Traynor twin 12, 80 watt tube amp. Steel sounds great and my Tele' also. It is for sale.

Jamey, I have two Vegas 400's, and wouldn't trade them for anything. Two channels for two different guitars. You can't go wrong. Larry _________________ U12 Williams keyless 400

How about the Lab Series L9? I remember Smiley Weaver back in Oklahoma playing steel through one of these, and it has a killer sound for telecaster. |

I would think a Fender Twin would be the best, 212s of the Special 15. |
