My thanks to everybody who came. It was a great time, and that's clearly because of the enthusiastic participation of the attendees. At one point (and for quite a while) we had 21 active steel steups going. That's a record for the SJ jams! Here's proof:
As an aside, this time I got to play a dobro for the first time ever (a kind-hearted attendee actually let me tinker with his marvelous and very expensive custom-made resonator) as people packed up at the end of the jam. What a joy! Now I want one more than ever. But they're so expensive and I'd only ever be a hack at it (like I am at PSG). Oh, but what a lovely instrument. It was so much fun to play.
Mike, I'm really glad you and Al Vescovo made the effort to come up to SJ for the jam. You two are the long distance winners this time. What PSG loyalists you are.
It was a pleasure to have both of you present.
As for my part in it all, my take is that I have more fun than anybody at these gatherings.
