The annual Ray Carson Birthday Party and Jam will be held starting 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at VFW Post 3176 in Waynesville, MO (17305 Superior Rd). Everyone who wishes to attend is urged to do so. And you pickers bring your axes and let's do our thing. Looking forward to it once again. Let me know somehow if you are planning. I can be reached here, or on myspace.com/raycarsoncountry or you may call me at 573-336-3022. Last year there were at least 40 pickers and we had a ball. Looking forward to it again. Ray

Hi Ray

Just read about your party, don't see any reason why I won't be there.

Hey Ray, good seeing you last night, and you sounded great. As that is the weekend of the Texas Steel guitar show, we won't be able to make your jam. Jean and I are doing a set at the Texas show. Wish your jam was at another time. Thanks, Larry

Guys, thanks for your posts. Bill and Jerry, I'm sure I'll see each of you before that time. Larry, darn it. It would be great if you and Jean could be there but I understand prior commitments. Have a blast in Dallas. Hope lots of you can be there. Ray

If only half as many musicians show up for the Ray Carson birthday jam this year there will still be a bunch of them. Hope y'all can make it. It will be Sunday, March 14 beginning about 1 p.m. at the VFW Post 3176, 17305 Superior Rd., Waynesville, MO. 65583 (573-336-3176) The post is actually closer to St. Robert, MO, than to Waynesville. As the date draws nearer I will post driving directions for all of you who don't know where it is. By the way, Terry Wood, I have located Jim Gable for you and have his number. My home number is 573-336-3022.

It's getting closer and I'm getting excited again. If everyone shows who has said they'll show, it will be awesome! I just told my friend Bob Preston today how amazed I am at the quality and talent of my musician friends. I only wish I had half the talent some of them have. Talked with Terry Wood Sunday. He didn't promise (he broke a hand recently) but said he'd try. I was awed last year and I will be again this year. See y'all on the 14th at VFW Post 3176 near Waynesville/St. Robert. Call 573-336-3022 or 573-528-9899 if you need directions.

Ray, as it turns out, we are not going to Dallas.
We will try to come down if the invite is still open.

You bet, Larry. Would love to have you and Jeanne at the place. If you have a gps just put 17305 Superior Rd, St. Robert, MO and it should lead you there. If you come down HWY 28 from Vienna turn west on I-44 and go to the next exit (Ft. Leonard Wood). Cross back over the interstate and go to the 4th stop light. Make a right then a quick left. At the top of the hill is the Hub Restaurant and Superior Rd. Turn right and proceed about 3/4 mile and place is on the right. If you need better directions or different, call 573-336-3176 or me at 336-3022 and we can talk you in. Looking forward to seeing you guys again. Ray

Hi Ray,
I live in your area and would like to come down. Bill Dobkins and Mike Beasley were telling me there are some great players coming. I went to your mySpace site and listened to some of your songs. Your stuff is exactly what I like! Looking forward to meeting you.

For anyone who don't know who Keith is, He plays steel for Mark Wills. It was ahonor to get to play with him. Also had dinner with him and Bill afterwards. Keith is a world class Steeler. He was playing a lefthanded Franklin.

I to Hope that Ray gets to feeling better, that is not the way he planned on spending his Birthday. I had a fine time just wished the steel gutiars could set closer to the stage we was so far away we was getting a delay. Still it was for a great time.
