I promote/organise guitar shows around the UK ( Birmingham, Southampton etc).
The next show is at Norwich on June 5th, at the Sport Village. At the shows we have a trading floor, for which we sell space to manufacturers ( Marshall, Yamaha, Korg, Line 6 etc) distributors ( Headline, Sutherland), retailers, dealers, etc, and we have a performance room. In the performance room we present a programme of manufacturer's demo players, and sometimes we put on a set by someone we like, like at B'ham we put on a Gypsy Jazz trio. We'd really like to put on a performance by a steeler, you can play to a CD backing track or with some accompanyists. If there's a manufacturer or dealer who'd like to take part, stand space is available from £60 for a 6' x 3' table top stand.
This is the first show we've put on here, so we don't know how many will come, but at Southampton we had 1500, and at Birmingham 2000. The performance room holds about 150 - 200.
I'd bet that a large number of those who come will never have seen a steel guitar before!
