"WOW" What a weekend. For you that did not go to Benton Illiniois this weekend, you missed some of the finest music this old man has ever heard. And most of the music was classic country. The professional SUPER PICKERS were great as well as some local fairly unknown pickers. I have also noticed something about some of the older steel pickers. They and single single malt Scotch whiskey get smoother with age. Ask me and I might tell you who I am refering to. I can't wait til next year. Thanks to Don and Sheila and the untold many for putting on the SUPER SHOW.

Thanks Lyle the show was just great all the players loved it and it was good to meet you. If anyone missed Randy and Russ at the end with Laney singing all I can say is it don't get any better. The band played exceptionaly well. A special thanks to all that made this a great show I can't wait for StLouis.

You know, Lyle, there is a lot of hidden talent in Southern Illinois. Balum's Ride just gets better every time I hear them. They are a good bunch of boys. If I had to pick my favorite act from the show, I'd be sitting here scratching my head for a long time. It was really good to meet you and we will see you next year. Good things are going to be coming to our website in the near future so keep going back.

Hi back Bobby Reed,
Thank you for asking me to do that. What a treat and an honor for me. I'm still not over the "feel good" from that yet, and from the whole weekend. You guys are the best. That weekend is full of memories that I know I will cherish for the rest of my life. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it, and how much I appreciate everyone that helped and participated to make it what it was. I have intentionally avoided thanking people by name because I wouldn't know where to start, or even where to finish, so again, Thank you so much to everyone. Look forward to seeing you all again soon.

That was some fine eatin, wasn't it? Ron, what a ball we had hanging out with you and Leslie and the rest of the gang down there. The highlight for me had to be getting to play Bass with you and Lynn and Russ on the Don Helms Tribute. Got the pictures to prove it and I must've showed everybody in the county by now. Even folks I didn't know. That was a real pleasure and an honor for me for sure. Something I won't soon forget.

I haven't talked to my buddy Tater Bug for a while so I owe him a call anyway, and I'll tell him you said Hey.
Thanks again, to everyone.

O bye the waye Bobby, the photographer wants to know where to send the bill for the excellent pictures that were taken at Benton?. The labor was real cheap because the equipment was borrowed.
