Sunday afternoon my good friend, Wayne Franco from the Seattle WA area, flew in to spend a few days with me before the Dallas steel show.
We have been having a blast ... right off the bat, we had to go back to the airport because Wayne's steel arrived on a later flight than he did, but we got his guitar safe and sound and, back at my home, we lost no time in setting it up. Here's a quick photo of Wayne at his beautiful ZumSteel ripping away with some really nice C6th work ...
... actually, during our session of being "mad scientists" Sunday night, Wayne gave me my very first "C6th lesson" and I think I'm going to start being hooked on learning that neck. I've always been strictly an E9th player in the past.
I've known Wayne a very long time, but last night I learned something about him I'd not previously known ... he's also quite the accomplished banjo player! My buddy, Daniel, stopped by for a visit and brought his banjo with him and Wayne surprised us all with some really skilled and excellent playing.
Wayne is visiting with Maurice Anderson today and this evening we'll be back at our steels ... trading licks and playing along with some tracks. All this steel playing is pumping us both up for the coming event ... just today and tomorrow left and then it'll be the Dallas show! _________________ 1986 Mullen D-10 with 8 & 7 (Dual Bill Lawrence 705 pickups each neck)

Hi, Gary ... Wayne will probably be back from Reece's around 5 or 6 PM I'm guessing and I'll be sure to tell him and I'll have him pop onto the forum here and see your greeting, too. _________________ 1986 Mullen D-10 with 8 & 7 (Dual Bill Lawrence 705 pickups each neck)

Wayne has been working on his tuning, from the looks of the dogs leaving the area I would say he needs more work. Maybe it is all of those augmolished and demented chords he is trying to sting together.
