Hope the back is doing better, Don. I have to be at Moffitt early tomorrow to get the results of tests done last week. Hopefully all will be well

Fred
Thanks and let's hope for the best at Moffitt.
I saw the Neurosurgeon for my back pain and he can't do anything for me.
I have been scheduled to go to the Nerve Center in Gainesville as he said my problem is nerve damage and the MRI's don't show where.
Anyway this is off the post subject, so I'll see you at the jam as well.

Dave, It was 30 this morning, but 52 right now. The Orlando forecast is 78 Wednesday (grin). Maybe we finally broke the record cold. February was the second coldest on record. |

Don, Jack, and all, looks like another full house this month, to keep down the clutter I will play Boby,s GFI again, it sure plays good and I want to thank Boby for letting my play his steel, It matches they way I play, except his knees are backwards to my williams, makes you consentrate more on playing.
Tony will be with me again.

This Thursday the Dallas Steel Show starts. Some will probably be on the way to Dallas, Wednesday. John King sent me a message that he was leaving Wednesday for Dallas. |

Looking forward to playing his month.
Seeing the doctors don't know what my pain problem is I might as well bring my steel and enjoy myself.
Sorry my Weenick steel won't be ready until the April jam.
This cold snap we've had here in Florida has put the build about 6 weeks behind schedule.
I'll just have to send Pix to you snowbirds.

Gonna have to miss this month - came down with some kind of stomach bug that won't go away. I am, however, sending Tom and Clyde as my personal representatives to maintain order and keep Jack and Don out of trouble.
See y'all next month! _________________ 2022 Brook Lyn, 2014 Martin 000-18, 2022 Ibanez GB-10, two homebrew Teles, Evans RE200 amp, understanding wife of 49 years. 'Steeless' at the moment |

I too will miss all you guys who are either not feeling well or have left us for the cold northern states.
And to those still here Fred, George and Clayton we'll give you one last good sending off to the north as well.
When you guys leave I can go back to playing some of your songs.
Good to hear you are coming to play James.
See you all tonight.

Nick, it would have been nice if your vacation was this month. We've finally getting "Florida weather", but you can't really plan for that.
Skip, too bad that the bug will make you "skip" the jam this month. Stay away from McDonalds (ha ha).
James gets a double shot - steel and bass. Lee Holloway said your gospel group did well at his church on Sunday. |

Thanks, Don. It's been a tough decision. My back is in terrible shape and really shouldn't be hossing around this equipment. But, what the hay, it's gonna hurt anyway!

Jack, I always maintain that God blesses the ears of the audience.
I like to quote what I heard Wendy Bagwell say one time..."I begged the Lord for talent to sing and play this guitar. He didn't give me any, but gave me a crowd that don't know the difference!" 'Course, that ain't the case at a steel jam!
Playing bass in bluegrass Gospel is a lot easier than some of those tunes y'all try to stump the band with. For sure you'd stump me!!
Lee, thanks for the kind words! _________________ J.R. Marlowe

Jim
You don't have to tell me about back problems.
If you remeber I sat out last month on a chair and tried to play 2 songs and left at the break.
I've seen a Chiropractor, Pain doctor, Neurosurgeon and Neurologist since last June and none of them have helped me or know what my problem is.
We'll make the best of it and play as well as we can.
See you all tonight.

I had back surgery in '05 and the results were great for while it lasted. But the ol' osteoarthritis is doing it's evil thing. _________________ J.R. Marlowe

Another good turnout for the jams. Some are leaving for the summer and we wish them a safe trip back north and will see them in fall when they return.
The SGR "ensemble" worked out good last night with everyone doing the one part in the song. |
