Hello Lavon,
Being a beginner I can only give you a beginner view of Mickeys book "Beginner's Guide to Mastering the E9th Pedal Steel Guitar"
First, it starts at the beginning talking about copedents, tuning, reading tablature. Mickey doesn't assume that you now a lot of things, he explains them instead.
Then he explains a bit of Music Theory so that you can put the exercises in some kind of content.
The book is 90 pages plus appendixes and also contains a DVD where you can see (and hear) Mickey play all the exercises.
The only downside that I can find is the price. But I'm guessing that Mickey will get a very low hour rate for all the work he has put into this book.
If you are a beginner then I recommend this book. I can't see that you will be disappointed.
