Well it is about to happen after several attempts, My Gospel Opry will debut next Saturday, April 16 near Mineola Tx. I have a 1700 sq ft building that will seat between 125 and 150. My 4 piece band will be the only entertainment this month. We will have featured performers next month and each month there after. I play steel on about 1/3 of the material and lead on the rest.

Thanks
James

Thanks for the well wishes. I would like to especially thank Jerry Roller and Reggie Duncan for all the questions you have answered for me the past few months. Thanks to Jerry Newberry for talking with me in the Mullen room in Dallas.

I will let you all know how it goes.

Hello James,
Well it seems like your dream is finally coming through for you. We are glad to hear about the good news. Now you can put that Zum to work a little more. Don't give up your church work though. Ha! I know you won't. We will drop over some weekend and see what is going on. We wish you the Best.
God Bless.
Wayne & Perceline

Hey Brother Wayne. Good to hear from you. If I could find a singer guitar player I would play steel more. Right now, I am running sound at church, I would rather be playin the ZUM.

I will try to see you at Ronnies in June.

Hey fellow forumites. Our Gospel Opry was well attended. We had 25 chairs set up and 70 of those were occupied. All the audience response was very positive. Thanks to those who made suggestions. We used some of the ideas and will incorperate more as we grow. Several people said they would be back next month with a church van load. We are excited.

James that is extremely good news! We have been blessed with a larger facility and we are having about 200 now! Just keep it fresh and move it along as fast paced as possible. (That is what I'm trying to tell our band leader!)

Hey James,
Keep us posted on future dates. We will be up that way sometime in May and would maybe come over. Maybe even some time in the future I could do a guest singing spot. We did the Hays County Country Jamboree last night and it was a great show. Dennis Ivey from Crockett did several gospel songs. He is so good and so dedicated to the Lord. You might consider him some time. I hope your show is a great success. There is never enough gospel music.

James, it sounds like a great thing you are doing there. We would love to get something going like this here in Northern California!

Great news on the larger quarters Reggie. Based on the response of the crowd from Saturday, I am looking at plans to enlarge my building. We had a great time. We spend a lot of time talking with the audience during break and after the show. People were still standing around talking an hour later.

Charlie, the next show will be May 21 at 7 pm. Let me know if you need directions.
