Last night I won the Man of The Year award of my home town of Sullivan mo. I won the award because of all the time I spend teaching the local youth about playing music. You wouldn't think a steel player could get very many kids attention, but I have been very blessed to have had good luck with kids. I have several that play with me on a regular basic. Who would have thought you could get an award for something you love to do. I just wanted to share this with my friends on the forum.

Jerry - Congratulations, you're very deserving.
I recall you introducing me to a couple of your
students that you brought up to Convench.
Good for you!

Jerry,it usually is the people who don't expect awards that get them because they are immersed in the work and not the glory. The youth of America have so many negative distractions,it is great to see someone giving them the option to learn something they can enjoy the rest of their lives. Keep up the good work and congratulations!
