I have a Sho-Bud LDG (early model with round front and single raise/single lower). What I want to know is, what would it take to upgrade this guitar to a double raise, single or double lower guitar. I am also wondering what year it was that LLoyd Green had his guitar modified. |

Hi,
just my opinion, but I would not modify that guitar. You have the most desirable version of the LDG: the single raise/single lower changer with two hole pullers. As you know, you can add as many pulls as you need with the brass tuning barrels. If you really want an LDG with a more advanced changer, find one of the later models. I had one with the triple raise/double lower changer, and it worked and sounded great. It would be a shame to mod the one you've got. If you want to sell it to buy a later model there are plenty of people (like myself) who will be happy to buy it. You've got a good one! |

Cliff speaks the truth--don't mod it. If you need some help squeesing out some more changes, holler at Ricky Davis or myself, and we will help you. You've got one of the "holly graille" 'buds--don't mod it. |

Absolutely...why mess up a perfectly good first-gen LDG? |

Don't mod that guitar...... sell or trade it for a more modern version. I love my '73 LDG and the 2 hole puller/barrel system. I have every change that I want on it, including splits. Ask Ricky Davis, James Morehead, or John Coop about ways to get what you want out of that guitar. |
