A little bit of unsolicited do-gooder-ism on my part, but my friends Kenny & Lisa just moved and in so doing, unearthed a (appears to be mid-60s--has a 3000xxx pat # on the decal) D8 Stringmaster without case--24-1/2" scale. Lisa took a few lessons after Dad bought it in the 60s, then into the plastic bag for 40 years, I guess. I may put an anecdote about the guitar in "No Peddlers" soon, but for now, I thought I'd help them sniff around to see if I could locate a more appropriate enclosure than a garbage bag. It's no way for sale, even though I enlightened them (Kenny's a luthier/mandolinist/guitarist extraordinaire; Lisa's a radiologist; neither knew much about old Fender steels)about this model and some recent price history from here on SGF and eBay, etc.
Anyone have an idle and empty D-8 Stringmaster case at a moderate price?
(Worse comes to worst, I'll see if the Asian keyboard case that now ineffectively houses my ZB D-10 PSG (~36x12x6") will work for the Stringmaster. Anyone got a longer PSG case? One Sho-Bud model was about 36" if I understand correctly.)

My original post is two years old. I'm a bit puzzled as to how the question above your reply landed in all this. (Or what it's trying to determine.) |
