I have a MSA Red baron single neck E9 pedal steel.
It has 3 pedals and 1 knee lever (Drops E's to Eb)
Its complete with'
Hardshell case
Original volume pedal (works perfectly)
tuning wrench
Printed Copy of Owners manual
I would say the guitar is 9 out of 10 - its in pretty good shape. All works well.
Whats this thing worth?
Thinking of puting on ebay.
Thanks for any input. _________________ Emmons Legrande III SD10

$300 or so - just a guess of course as it's hard to know what someone will pay. You might do considerably better on E-bay. |

Seems like if it was in good shape it would be worth twice that!........JH in Va. _________________ Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!! |

Ya figure, Jerry? I liked the MSA Sidekick (very similar to the Red Baron) I started with and still think of them as good solid entry-level instruments, and certainly reliable and durable - my sense was though that the used Carter Starters in the five to six hundred buck range would negatively impact the price of the older student guitars like the Red Baron, although I find the less-than-solid feel of the Starter off-putting. |

Jerry is right. I put it on ebay yesterday and with 5 days left, the bidding is over 600.00

You can only use Ebay as a price guide for the uninformed. |

Years back it was an accurate and consistant barometer of a given market. Lately it shows a wide swing between "helluva bargain" and "uninformed buyers wildly overpaying". |

Bob is right. The Red Baron is not the typical (good and solid) MSA of it's time. It's an entry level plastic guitar. |

Congratulations Don, you seem to have found some bidders familiar with MSA's reputation for quality that have no clue what a Red Baron is---Home Run!!! |

What anything is worth and what it will bring are often 2 different things. If I have it it always seems I buy high and can'y give it away .
Just because something brings it , doesn't mean it is worth it . I do not mean this as a slam on the mentioned guitar.
My motto
Anything is only worth WHAT you can get out of it WHEN you NEED to sell it. For some reason I buy when everybody wants it and sell when no one wants it.
It seems to work out that way on everything I buy. I have said in the past that I couldn't sell a 20 dollar bill for 10 dollars . Five minutes later the guy I was talking to got it and said I could ! _________________ "The Oddball" A MSA Keyless with pedals to the right. |
