I just got a great Sho~Bud Pro 1 this week. absolutely love it! My very first Sho~Bud and I've been playing a GFI Ultra D10 for the past three years.
One question. When I have my bar over the first or move it to the second fret, the tenth string buzzes as the bar seems to not be actually on the string by however many thousandths of an inch and the note does not ring out unless I tilt the bar downward closer to the string. From the thrid fret on forward, no problem hearing the 10th string.
Any ideas or suggestions? I changed the string just to eliminate that possibility and still get the buzz.

Could be the roller is worn or in the wrong slot causing the string to be a tad lower at that end. the reason it's OK from the third fret up is that it doesn't take the same pressure or weight on the bar to touch all strings at once the farther you get from the head. Just my thoughts as it's just looking at it from a geometric approach. I'm sure you will get other and probably better answers. |

Have you put new strings on the guitar since you got it? It could be just the wrong string gauge on the 10th. Lay a light-weight straight-edge across the strings right beyond the rollers. If the 9th string is higher, and the string gauge on the 10th is correct, try rotating the roller 90 degrees or so. Or, as David suggested, perhaps the rollers are not in the correct position.
I like using my 6" rule rather than the bar, because the bar is heavy, and it's hard to get a good view because the bar is, of course, round. Straight-edge gives you a nice clear view. |

thanks everyone for your input and help, sorry for the delay getting back. I found the prob. the roller pin(which was aluminum) was bent. horribly bad. I took it out and replaced it with a steel roller pin, new strings, no more problems! sounds incredible!!
so my question now is did sho~bud guitars come standard with aluminum roller pins? _________________ Mullen RP SD-10, Hilton volume pedal, Peavey Nashville 112, George L's. |
