This is going to be a lot of fun, I played this show last year and it was wonderful. The venue is the best I've ever seen for a steel show, the people, players, food and backup band are second to none. This is a great place to be if you love steel guitar,
Ron Elliott would make it a great show even if he were the only one playing there!
The player line up looks like a who's who of the eastern steel world.
I'm proud to be a part of it, Wonderful folks putting this show on also. Don and Sheila Lampley, Bobby Reed, with much great support they have behind them.
Folks, please don't miss this one,

Bobbe

Bobbe,
How do you spell "Lynn Owsley & Friends"? He is going to be there as well. This building will seat around 900 the way we will have it set up and it is looking like a lot of it will be great players. They just keep coming in!! Along with great steelers, we are going to have some great vocals, too. Laney Hicks, Teresa Street, Ron Head, Don Lampley (my favorite), and so many others my brain can't think of this early in the morning. This is going to be a great show from Thursday morning to Saturday night. We will have a line-up of player listed on our website hopefully today. If not, I will post it here tonight when I get home. And yes, we will have your favorite polish sausage, onions and peppers again this year. We love you Bobbe. So glad you are coming back this year. Hope you put a new alternator on your plane before you come.

Sheila

Mike,

I, too, wish you could be there. However, you and Bobbe on the same stage might be more than this old heart can stand.

Bobbe Seymour has at least ONE FRIEND and that is me.

No Bobbe, it is not raining in Tyler, Texas today. I have re-located to Princeton, Texas so just land in the field across the road and I will jump in and go with 'ya.

Have a ball, Buddy.

Charles, you have been and always will be my hero! You are doing a lot for steel guitar, The Lampleys are doing in Illinois what you are doing in Texas.
All you steel show producers deserve a lot of credit for the efforts you go through. You all have my greatest respect and admiration.

Hey Bobbe,
I just went to www.steelguitar.net and I didn't see that blue steel you had in October that I liked. But I sure like that dobro hanging on the wall in one of the pictures. I used to have one just like it.

Of course you didn't see the blue guitar I had in stock last year, I sell these things, I have a store, not a museum! Ha!
However, If you want one, I'll see that you get one!
I also love Blue Sho-Buds, Reminds me of Jimmy Day I suppose.
If you wish, I'll bring a "Blue" guitar to the show in Benton next month, and a new alternator on the plane, by the way, did you ever find my last one that fell off last year?
Tell Mike Weirich I owe him lunch when I get there, sausage from your food pavillian,
man, that was great last year!
Well, I can hardly wait!

We just got an email asking for directions to the show. If this map doesn't show up you can go to our site and click on the directions link.

***If you will be traveling in an RV or other tall vehicle***
*** Please see the corrected map and directions below.***
***DuQuoin Street has a 7' Clearance.***

Get off I-57 at Exit 71(IL State Route 14) and go East into Benton approximately 3/4 mile.

At the Benton Square turn right and go 1/4 of the way around (all traffic travels counter-clockwise on the Square) and exit going South. Huddelson will be the 4th street on the right.

Turn right onto Huddelson headed west traveling 2 blocks, the Civic Center will be on the left.

I've searched the website and can not find the date of this event. I know who's playing and at what time and how to get there, just not when. Anyone?

Brad,
I have tried to email you and I guess I got it wrong because it came back to me. I've searched our sign-in sheet to find your address and had no luck there either. The dates of the show are April 14th, 15th & 16th, 2005. The directions off I-57 in southern Illinois are posted above and the showtimes are on our website. Hope to see you there.
