In case you didn't know, I am the author and publisher of custom spam filter rules for the anti-spam program MailWasher Pro, by Firetrust, for which I am also an affiliate dealer. I maintain three sets of filters on my website, all of which are updated quite often and are downloaded by good people seeking relief from spam, all around the free World (except spammer countries on my .htaccess and iptables blocklists!). The filters use words and regular expressions to match those used by spammers, scammers, and cyber criminals, in the spam messages they send out by the billions, via spam Botnets.
I have just updated my custom MailWasher Pro filters to detect and delete a brand new spam threat in the guise of a Blogger account update link. The Subject being used right now is: "Your Blogger account" - with wording in the message body telling you to click the included link to update your Blogger account. That link leads to malware infections and possibly phishing of Blogger credentials.
It is possible that users of Google's Blogger service could be tricked by this ruse, so I created a rule today to detect this threat and delete it. You can read the details on the Firetrust forum, in my thread about my custom MailWasher filters. The code is posted there for you to copy and paste. Details about adding filters are discussed in that thread, so start at the top.
You can learn more about using and updating MailWasher filters on my Wizcrafts' Custom MailWasher Pro Filters web page. It also contains updates to my MWP Blacklist, which is often responsible for catching over 20% of all incoming spam (before the filters are processed).
Yes, these filters will work in the free version of MWP. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum
