I'm pleased to announce that my good friend Eddy Asher has released a new CD of some great country music. There are 18 songs on this CD, all but 3-4 having been written by Eddy.
I will also insert a shameless plug that yours truly has produced a few notes of pedal steel guitar on this CD that you might find to your liking.
This album can be ordered directly from Eddy through his website:

I have uploaded 3 songs from this CD as demo's if you'd like to give them a listen. They are located on my page at Hank Ruf's "Steel Guitar Network" website under "My Music":

Eddie is one of the top singers in this area, and Mike McGee is without a doubt the best steel player in this area. Lots of great singing and playing on this CD. I was with Eddie Asher, Jack Musgrave, and Wayne Florange tonight. We went to the visitation at the Funeral Home in Walnut Grove, Missouri-- for Don Tummons. Don was a great singer and supporter of steel guitar. |

I have not had the pleasure of meeting Eddy Asher in person, how ever I have listen to his superior vocals in Mike McGee's recording studio why visiting Mike and Mary.
Now, what ole Mikey is leaving out of this thread and not telling you all is, Mike McGee is the recording engineer and producer of this fine collection of songs on this CD. I'm sure Eddy is mighty proud as I was when Mike handled the controls on my CD three years ago.
I've sampled a bit of each of these songs on Eddy's new CD. Eddy has a voice to die for, so smooth and relaxing to listen to. Do yourself a favor and get this CD, you won't regret it. _________________ Email: azpedalman@gmail.com

Keith, I wasn't aware that Don had passed. When and how? He was a good ole boy and we had just renewed our relationship after losing touch for many years. Sorry to hear this. Inform em. Ray |

Ray, I don't want to hi-jack Mike's post. Don was buried yesterday. Ray, I want to comment about your vocal ability. When you came and sang with our band it was some of the greatest singing I have every played steel to. I would like to have a band where the singers were: Eddie Asher, Rob Parker, and Ray Campbell. I guarantee those 3 singers can out sing anything I have heard coming out of Texas when it comes to 4/4 shuffle tunes. If I had those 3 singers in a band singing Texas Shuffle tunes, it would be like dying and going to heaven. I might even try to play some Ralph Mooney mixed in. By the way Mike, Jerry Menoun told me that little Emmons did sound better--just for your information. |

Thanks, Keith. My head just grew another two hat sizes. Go check out the Ray Carson birthday jam entry (that's me) and see if the date fits your schedule. I think Dave Tunnell is coming and a bunch more I'm sure you know. Thanks again. And Mike, I listened to some of the stuff I found on you and Asher and I liked it very much. Maybe some day I can get down to Branson for one of y'all's get togethers. I'll try. |
