I just found out the Festus (Ken Curtis) was a member of the Sons of the Pioneers which leads me to ask the following. Was there steel on any of the Sons of the Pioneers works?

Thank you;

Sherman

Yes.

Sam Koki, Joaquin Murphey, Noel Boggs, and probably others.

The Pioneers "Will There Be Sagebrush In Heaven" has one of Noel Bogg's best ever performances.

Here is Festus, down front:

Ken Curtis also sang with Spade Cooley.s big band on Santa Monica pier, Ca.
Tommy Doss also started out in So.Calif. singing with Luke Wills, Then was hired into the Ole Rasmussen Band. (He was known as Spike Doss) When Bob Nolan was retired from the Pioneers, they hired Spike and gave him th4 name of "Tommy". He and Bob Nolan had similiar sounding voices.
