I'm not sure if this is the propper place to post this subject, so I'm making an ANNOUNCEMENT:

I've noticed an increase in the clientel (sp?) of traditional country music in the last 9 months or so. I've been involved in playing in a very traditional country music band on Tuesday nights at the Finish Line on the West side of Fort Worth, Tx. (I30 and Linkcrest Dr.)

There was a big crowd of older folks showing up weekly, and lately, there are more and more of the "younger" folks along with a total increase of folks period, showing up. I have talked with several of them, and they told basicly the same story. They have been looking for a place, and a band that plays the old stuff. I'm talking about all ages over 18. I met a feller about 23-24, and he heard about what was going on out there, and after checking it out, he told me he will come back as much as he can.

Unfortunately, just like Hollywood, and Nashville, MOST club owners, are hard to convince that the demand is still there for Ray Price, Johnny Bush, Mel Tillis, Faren Young, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Buck Owens, Conway Twitty, Ernest Tubb, Jack Green, etc. But here in West Fort Worth, "Frauline" still fills the dance floor, as does "Silver Wings".

Chuck,
I've noticed the same thing in this corner of Az. unfortunatly what you say about "club" owners is true. We have very few places left to play that are "Country"
BTW I've Never seen Silver Wings fail to fill the dance floor!
