I'd just like to thank all the folks at the Dairy State Show for being so kind to me and my wife this weekend. We really enjoyed being there and getting to meet everyone. And the snow was nice, too! Special thanks to Craig & Sue, Chad, Mr. & Mrs. Davidson and the house band. You all really made us feel welcome and at home. Hope to see some of you down this way soon and to be up there again.

Mike it really was pleasure to have you and Theresa up here. You are two super people. And Mike your playing was awesome. Those bar slants and the Curly thing was top notch. Those of you that could have come and didn't really missed out. Thanks again Mike and it is good to see that you made it home safe. |

I really enjoyed your two performances and the graciousness of you and your wife at the "Udder Jam." That foot of snow wasn't exactly what Craig, Sue, and Chad had expected, but your presence, along with Scotty's, made it a very enjoyable Jam for all who attended, I'm sure. Thanks again! |

Mike, sorry I missed your set on Saurday night but I will make up for it in Chattanooga. I'm sure you played well and the comments substancuates that comment! See you in Chattanooga.
I also agree that Craig and his helpers treated us like royalty. And what would I do without the staff band. They are all excellent musicians and have become friends over the year. A special thanks to Roger on the guitar, Lefty for playing a duet with me and joining me on my full set on Sunday and thanks to the people on the PA. I hope they invite us back next year! Scotty

Scotty and Mike, Thank you for the kind words and the band sure had fun. The snow was outside and it was hot inside. Great show Craig, Chad, and Susie. To bad gotta wait till next year. Next time I won't eat before Dennis' set, must have been to much sweep on the phaser.
Good year and good health, love you all.

Darn it, Roger! I told you that watching me wolf food down was going to scare Hell out of you. Must have upset you worse that you thought!
All joking aside, your humor and outstanding guitar talent and ability to improvise always impress the heck out of me and everyone else. Stay healthy, buddy! |

Barb and I just returned home late yesterday from the Dairy State Jam and want to thank Craig, Susie, & Chad, for the wonderful time we had at the show and also for your Monday morning hospitality. The Jam really went very well in spite of a major snowstorm that dumped 8-12 inches Thursday night and Friday prior to the show.
Mike Sweeney's playing completely blew me away, whether he was playing up tempo swing or slow ballads--very tasteful stuff! And besides, he's one heck of a nice guy.
Scotty, thanks for inviting me to do some songs with you. It was definitely a highlight for me that I will always remember. When you were playing, there were times I closed my eyes and thought I was actually hearing Jerry Byrd. You put so much feeling into your playing.
And then there was the remarkable house band, e.g., Rog, Glenn, Harry, and Mark. You guys were really in the groove and helped set the tone for the whole show. It was hard to stay on my chair when you guys were jamming at the end of the show!
Craig and Susie, we appreciate the fact that shows like yours take a lot of work and organization and 'you did good'! See you at the next Dairy State Jam. ...lefty (& barb)

Lefty,
Thanks for the kind words but you blew me away too. I think we're on the right track with the 112 amps too. I noticed we walked out alot straighter than the guys with those heavy amps. BTW, Lefty did you get my email?

Mike, Buddy has perfected the fine art of bar spinning while he is in the middle of a hot ride. I saw you take it to the next level last saturday night. The only way for Buddy to top this, is to drop the bar on his toe and flip it back into his hand. I guess we can allow him to miss a couple of notes in the process?
Just reread this. Not sure if hot ride is the proper term?
Roger, I have an original "Dighton Poop-A-Seat" for you to use at the Quad Cities show. You won't have to leave the stage. It's not for sale, but you can use it for the day. And no more phasing between sets! I could have gotten some on me.

What a way to go! White knuckle the ride from Madison north and then attempt to play steel? Even as the snow was, it sure didn't stop poor Harry! That poor guy had to have the longest trip of that distance of his life!
Mike, It was a definate pleasure meeting and talking with you! Those bar slants are KILLER! We ALL appreciate your journry and would LOVE to see you back in the area for future jams!
Roger.......Over the years, I've worked with Dennis quite a bit, but He never had that effect on me. Must have been the water??
On a more serious note....
Thanks to Craig, Sue and Chad for having us all up there. Yet another memorable experience for us beginners. You all are GREAT!
Lastly....If anyone can tell me how to get ahold of Harry, I would appreciate it. Thanks again You ALL!!! |

Craig, Suzie & Chad...
Thanks for a great jam and all of the hard work. Thanks especially for providing a platform where beginners like me can listen to, and observe, some very accomplished pickers, and feel welcome at the same time. After I listened to Lefty, I told him I was gonna go home and make firewood out of my MSA. Well, I changed my mind and now I'm working my fingers to the bone trying to make use of some of the knowledge I gained. I'm sure I speak for all those less experienced souls, afflicted by PSG Syndrome, in thanking all of you for your patience with us. The house band was great as always, and the sound was super.
